AlBeMet

AlBeMet is a Beryllium and Aluminium composite having up to 62% Beryllium. These alloys combine high Young's Modulus low density and high thermal conductivity yet have yield strengths comparable to many Aluminium alloys.

AlBeMet can be machined using conventional tooling and does not need special diamond tolls. It can be joined by vacuum and dip brazing, electron beam and TIG welding and epoxy bonding. Similar
coatings to those used on Aluminium allow AlBeMet to pass the most stringent requirements for corrosion resistance.
