Alloy 3

Brush Alloy 3 strip offers the highest electrical and thermal conductivity of any beryllium copper alloy, from 45 to 60 percent of pure copper. It possesses an excellent combination of moderate yield strength (up to 140 ksi), good corrosion resistance and resistance to moderately elevated temperatures. Due to its unique physical and mechanical properties, this alloy finds widespread use in current-carrying springs, switch and instrument parts and similar components.

Other applications utilizing the rod bar and plate forms of Alloy 3 include resistance welding fixtures (RWMA Class 3), plunger tips for producing aluminium die castings, and heavy-duty connectors.

Prepared casting ingot is also available for foundry applications such as RWMA Class 3 welding fixtures and switch parts.
